Chakras Are Your Wheels
on the
Road To Better Health

Chakras are wheels of energy that everyone has circling around and through the body, mind and layers of unseen spirit. If you can imagine the inner workings of a nondigital timepiece, such as in a watch owned by your grand- or great grandfather, this is what chakras look like in action. Wheels upon wheels of various sizes working together. There are millions of these wheels operating somewhat like the atoms, cells, and molecules in the body. The main difference is that they are invisible; they are of the unseen realm.

It is good to remember that atoms, cells and molecules were also invisible to us at one time. This changed as the instruments of science helped to sharpen our ability to see such minuscule objects. There are people who can see the energetic spheres identified and named by Indians, but most of us cannot.

We can, however, feel their energy with practice. When they are strong and healthy, you have a well-defined sense of personal space. When they are not, you feel pushed around, tired most of the time, and very unfocused. It is said that chakras contain information about who we are and how we have lived. Some people can read this information when they work to balance the body's energies. This sometimes happens to me when I cleanse the chakras while doing Seichem Reiki. Here are very summary descriptions of these spheres of spiritual energy, from the vantage point of the Oneness to which we all surrender:

CROWN, the top of the head. This is the fount of your spirituality, mind power and the brain's connection to the Source of All Sources. Color: purple

THIRD EYE / BROW, the point between the eyebrows. This is your intuitive receiver and ability to keenly view life with the eye of the Source of All Sources. Color: indigo

THROAT, the area of the Adam's apple. It is associated with your speech, voice box and uttering Truth as generated for you from the Source of All Sources. Color: blue

HEART, the sternum or area above and between the breasts. This is the center of love and your capacity for loving yourself, the collective of humanity, and the Source of All Sources. Color: green or pink

SOLAR PLEXUS, the area right above the stomach or navel. This chakra expresses your gut feelings, and your will as The Will aligned with the Source of All Sources. Color: yellow

SACRAL, the area four inches below the navel. It relates to your digestion of life and reproduction of life at the behest of the Source of All Sources. Color: orange

ROOT, the perineum, or the bone between the scrotum or vulva and the anus. It reflects your earthiness, stability and security as well as your body's connection to the Source of All Sources. Color: red
