This is the time for healers everywhere to come forward

The unifying of purpose for healers is crucial, perhaps second only to our service to people. Here are lists of community-based healers throughout the U.S., taken from a website dedicated to Assata Shakur.

The HealMobile is intent on making this list exhaustive, especially for the top 5 regions where there is a high density of people in need. There are African Medicine Women and Men who are collecting the names and modalities of those who are dedicated in their fields. This is a beginning. Coalitions exist in regions that are not centered on holistic health, and I've included some information on those kinds of groups elsewhere on this site. My own teacher, Dr. Llaila O. Afrika, has trained many of the people in the U.S. in African-centered holistic health, condensing centuries of wisdom and decades of study into a system for understanding how we can help each other improve health and grow strong in mind-body-spirit.

ALL PEACE OF MIND AND EMPOWERING VIBRATIONS TO THOSE WHO HEAL THE VIBRATIONS OF THOSE IN NEED. ACHE', AL HAMDULILLAH, HALLELUJAH, PRAISE BE TO THE SOURCE OF ENERGY, THE ALMIGHTY, MOST MERCIFUL for these gifts, these healers who grace us....

That said, please add to my list of healers.

Are you healer or do you know a great healer?

In the meantime, I will visit hood doctors on ning.com to see what I can glean from that list to add to the one below (in addition to stacks of healers' cards, brochures and information that are waiting for upload.)

A bonus for you: FREE VIDEO ON WOMEN OF COLOR HEALERS:

"Healers: Holistic Health Care For Women of Color"

VISIT: http://www.archive.org/details/ddtv_156_healers

This program explores varied approaches to the prevention and treatment of disease based upon simultaneously treating the body, mind and spirit. The primary health care system fails in seeing the relationship between service delivery and the cultural orientation and gender of its patients. Therefore, it facilitates sickness as opposed to healing. The program features a look at the Lumumba Health Institute in Atlanta, GA., which provides holistic treatments for African-American women with fibroid tumors, and the Betances Health Unit in New York, NY, which provides alternative treatments such as acupuncture and herbal medicine. Coordinating Producer: Debra J. Robinson of Purple Flower Films (Atlanta, GA).

This movie is part of the collection: Deep Dish TV

Director: Debra J. Robinson; Production Company: Purple Flower Films; Audio/Visual: sound, color
