Healing Places: The HealMobile is a Vehicle and Destination for Healing a People
We are not only going to healing places, we presence the journey. In our Be-ing, where we are is the place to be. (I invite you to visit www.no-out-there.com to get what I mean.) That said, it cannot be denied that there are places that have power, give power, refresh and rejuvenate, and that I recommend we visit. You may say you are well-traveled and have “seen everything,” but have you felt the depth of your own vitality that is possible? Historically, spas were reserved for the rich, and in the U.S. they were located in the elite hotels in the most expensive cities. Russian spas are important exceptions, and things have changed over time. Saunas and steam rooms are staples in fitness centers. Body wraps, facials, tanning, peeling, waxing, plucking out hairs as much as inserting them—there is no end to the mostly beauty-oriented services that elite spas and storefront ones offer today. It's gone way beyond massage. Beauty is as much on order as healing. The more crass slip in a little “nip-and-tuck,” and get into huge trouble.
On the other hand, there are health spas for nourishing the total person all over the globe. I visited the sulfphur springs of Grenada in 2008. I knew I could not omit these natural wonders that revitalize the total person effortlessly, like a gift from Gaia. There are vortices that everyone raves about and I have yet to visit, such as the vortex in Sedona, Arizona. There are over 18,000 references to it on Google. I am working on a list of these and other natural wonders and will provide them as I can. Everyone, including people who reside in the ‘hood or who have less cash on hand, should be able to visit a local health food store to get a taste of what different energy feels like. This in itself is health-giving and we must start where we are. There are healing places and annual health fairs/conferences in many cities and it’s about time we listed them all in one place. The same goes for holistic-oriented retreats and conferences. These are the kind of healing places to go/see/be part of that can easily fit into your vacation or weekend itinerary. Submit your own information about healing places--places you have visited that have rejuvenated, revived or replenished you and your health. At this time,I cannot track health fairs or conferences with any degree of comprehensiveness as of yet but this is a long-term goal. However, do submit an event if you are providing at least three (3) months lead time:
I will strive to include your special places for retreats and healing spaces in these webpages. We are especially interested in the top five most concentrated urban and people-of-color regions--
New York metro
Washington DC / Baltimore metro
Chicago / Gary metro
Los Angeles
Philadelphia
I want to include any spas or healing centers that serve the wholistic mission, especially those springing out of the hopes and dreams of the least fortunate. Detroit and Houston are, with NY, Chicago and Philly, among the top five cities with the highest population of African descendants, so they are certainly of interest too while we take small steps then enlarge our reach. (Info from Target Market News) Given the concentration of people and fast-moving urban conditions, the purer vibrations that retreats, spas, and meetings and conferences centered on healing emanate make them truly convalescing environments. They are places you can go to to release tension and elevate your thought pattern way above the doldrums. Healing places also include the offices of holistic health practitioners and organizations, and religious or spiritual sanctuaries. All of these host events on their premises or in the community. If they do not, ask why not. You can see that my definition of a healing place is: "Where two or more are gathered... Healing places are calming and relaxing to all who enter, and none deserve it more than you.
