Het Heru and Womb Dances Heal The Woman and Her People

The Het Heru dance, which is probably the best known womb dance in the African descendant community today, is a thing of splendor. Of course this is our personal opinion. The dance involves belly dancing, hula dancing and modern dance. It came to Queen Mother Maasht Amm Amen in a dream or vision, so the dance is as inspired as it is inspirational.

Queen Mother is a member of the Ausar Auset Society, of which her husband Ra Un Nefer Amen is founder and chief king (shekhem ur shekhem). The Society is a worldwide community as I explain in the section on Kmet (ancient Egypt).

I learned the dance as part of African Medicine Woman training. We would play the music of the Sisterhood Chant, dancing to it, as well as watch the Het Heru dance DVD. In an excellent way, the DVD captures African descendant women having fun dancing to African drums and music to evoke the spirit of Het Heru, the female qualities of womanality, beauty, grace, feminine power and royalty.

The DVD has three parts, the first depicts Queen Mother interviewing sisters who testify as to the effectiveness of the dance. It seems to free up the body and meta-body energies so that opportunities to grow your income, wellness and self-esteem just land in your life. One woman said a bank gave her a loan for her business in a quick and unexpected way. Another removed all the fibroid pain she had in her body.

The second part of the DVD is the warm-up, lasting about 15 minutes. It features live African drumming that the sisters exercise to; they seem to be outside in a park.

The third part is the actual dance, which lasts all of six or seven minutes. When I do the dance without the DVD I usually do each position four times, and the whole routine twice. I also like to do the dance in each of the four directions, which adds another dimension to it. This takes about 15 minutes. In the DVD, all the women wear green and yellow, which are the the colors of healing, according to the Society (and other groups).

Testimony: I think the dance keeps me slim. When you "take from the heaven," using your arms as if pulling down fruit, then "take from the earth," as if you're scooping up cowries; then roll those energies into a healing balm for the tummy-digestive-sacral chakra, how can you go wrong? It's an easy workout, and I love dance versus exercise at a gym to work my body.
