Healthy Spirit Soul Balance:
You Gotta Have It

Holistic health is mind body spirit soul, taken altogether. You should know their interrelatedness and appreciate why a balance between them can harmonize the complexity of your life. A multi-dimensional approach including diet, exercise, attitude and pure essential oils (described below) is indicated for positive, holistic results.

Fads and extremism must be avoided if healthy spirit soul balance is the goal. However, we can easily see in our families and the news that people go overboard with fundamental religion and spirituality (both feed spirit), and suppress or aggress using their emotional state (soul) as fuel for take-off. Gross imbalance looks like violence, disease and epidemics in society.

Spur Spirit and Ask Why
Spirit comes from the root word spirare, to breathe. We always recommend that you breathe deeply. You want to stimulate or invigorate spirit; make it "rise" from your interior. If you don't spur or stir the spirit and you no longer taken in breath, you die.

You may know of other levels of being besides mind body spirit soul. There are as many interpretations as there are cultural beliefs. Central to all is your moral or emotional nature, and the dictionary says these are the domain of the soul. People often equate soul with spirit, but the difference is this: everyone has spirit if they have life; not everyone has soul in the same way.

This is because some are old, others young; some large and others small. Those without it seem robotic; those with an excess seem to drown in their emotions or passions.

A spirit soul balance is possible and you can achieve it in your lifetime. Take time to ask, Why have I been giving the gift of breath? What do I need to understand about my life? Only you can answer these questions, and a healthy spirit soul balance helps you to do so.

Feed the Soul and Balance the Spirit Soul
There are ways to "grow" or "feed" the soul, nurture it in other words, to better withstand the trials of life. Rituals such as prayers and meditation are common methods and very effective. Moreover, in each moment that we take a breath, there is the opportunity to witness or activate the maturing of the soul. The aim is to have it grow toward its origin, Spirit with a capital "s" (God of your understanding; All in All).

For example, we can notice how being with certain people fill us up emotionally, while others drain our energy. Recognizing and bearing witness to our feelings strengthens our emotional center or "gut." Being guided by your feelings and choosing associates of beneficial rather than harmful effect helps to water and feed the soul.

In terms of physical health, ever notice how winded you feel after climbing stairs, or feeling fidgety and cranky if you miss lunch? The next step for holistic, soul-ar feeding is action, doing something to run up the steps easily and establishing a relationship with food that is balanced in variety, type, color, quanity and timing. Your spirit is invigorated and your soul is expanded when you follow through with what you know is best for you.

Use Nature's Living Energy to Help
Essential oils that can assist in the process must be in their pure, unadulterated form. To achieve spirit soul balance and address the following conditions, use one or two of the listed oils. Place 1-2 drops in your hands, rotate 3x, cup hands over your nose and inhale deeply. Read the Safety Notice before using undiluted and unenhanced oils. Safety Notice
Recommendations are not meant to replace medical advice. See your medical practitioner for long-standing problems. Inform him or her about your use of pure oils. Oils rarely conflict with medications and you must follow your doctor’s advice.

Test one or two drops of oil in an inconspicuous area before use. Asthmatics or others sensitive to scent should use just one drop and only on the soles of the feet. Start with less oil, not more, to gauge impact. You may increase drop by drop and take note of changes.

Redness, outbreaks or itching means too much oil. Wait a day for the body to adjust to the powerful natural energy of oils before resuming use. Dilute with sesame, olive or coconut oils or shea butter. Never water!
