Let's go back in history to the electrical origins of the Tesla Shield and other products that serve as protective armor for the body, all based on the principles of physics. The shield itself evolved during the era of the mass availability of electric light, over 130 years ago. Its inventor, Nikola Tesla, competed with Thomas Edison, his one-time supervisor, on a variety of fronts. On his deathbed, Edison admitted his colleague was right about the superiority of AC power over DC power. The two men missed out on the Nobel Prize because of their rivalry.

The man was a wounded genius in the sense of wounded healer. He confirmed the harm posed by X-rays, though he helped to create his own version of this skeletel viewer. He was also recognized posthumously for inventing the radio, and therefore influenced the development of the microwave. Wireless technology is based on his research and predictions about how energy, magnetism, and radiation could both harm and help humanity.

Despite his quirky dislike of jewelry, Tesla's ideas lent themselves to personal adornment products that use what he taught. He died penniless, unable to make millions because he refused to join with Edison and others when invited. Ego took him out rather disgracefully, yet we gain from the gifts of knowledge he came to share.
